Breach TD iOS Mobile Gaming Review:
Defend Your Bastion Tower from Menacing Void Monsters in Breach TD
While I’m not much of a gamer-girl, I certainly appreciate a fun, challenging game. I really love the evolution video games have taken in the past few years. Video gaming used to be something that you had to connect controllers to, but now, the power rests in your hands — literally. One of the most popular style of games today is tower defense.
With tower defense style games you are forced to defend a specific point on a map an stop enemies from reaching it. It’s a real-time strategy video game and usually involves building a variety of towers that shoot at approaching enemies. Now, I have to admit that this is not my genre of choice. I’ve never been very good at it, but I do see its appeal and I know a lot of dedicated gamers that do like it. That being said, I would like to introduce you to Breach TD — the spiritual sequel to the StarCraft II mod, Squadron Tower Defense.
Breach TD was launched on the iOS platform this past week and it really takes tower defense to a new level of gaming. It has an action-packed mix of real-time strategy and MOBA-like gameplay. It was developed by Space Rhino Games and has incredible graphics, furious action and 20 engaging characters to choose from.
“Breach TD offers players an extremely polished, intense tactical experience not usually found on mobile,” says Michael A. Hoyos, founder and CEO of Space Rhino Games. “We wanted to create an extremely competitive tower defense game that requires careful planning and perfect timing from players — a game that rewards daring moves as well as skillful team-building. We hope to meet the expectations of our Kickstarter backers and fans alike, going above and beyond what was promised. See you at the Breach!”
- Heads-up multiplayer mode featuring:
- Powerful Guardians
- Devastating mercenary tiers
- Challenging boss battles
- Crowd control abilities
- A new take on tower defense: You are not a passive spectator, but an active participant.
- Use Battle Cards and Mercenaries to help your Guardians beat the Void monsters back to where they came from.
- Tactics-based combat: Come up with a Guardian composition that’s perfect for early, middle or late game strategy.
Like I said in the beginning of this review, I’m typically not a fan of tower defense; I’m just not any good at it. But, I found Breach TD to be exceptionally enjoyable because of it’s strategy and how it plays. Because you have more of an active role as game master, it almost has a card-based RPG feel (i.e. MAGIC: The Gathering), which is something I enjoy very much.
In testing this game, I was very engaged by the story and the graphics. I honestly have not seen better graphics in a mobile game in a very long time. It has some amazing color depth and clarity that is rare with a free mobile game. That’s right. Breach TD is offered absolutely free (with in-app purchases for in-game points).
With its stunning graphics and challenging gameplay, Breach TD is a great addition to any mobile gamers app collection. You can download it today from the iTunes App Store.
