A unique gift idea for hard to shop for family and friends.

Around this time of year, I start getting a little stressed. It has become harder and harder to find gifts for certain family members and I just don’t know how to shop for them. Online store Brando has a slew of unique gift ideas that are sure to impress even the pickiest loved ones.

After perusing their selection, I happened across this 3D Moon USB Lamp. It’s an LED lamp made in the shape of the moon. The lamp was actually made using a 3D printer – layer by layer – to ensure the truest appearance of the moon. The lamp is rechargeable using the provided USB cable. It operates via touch control and features two distinct colors – a soft yellow glow and a bright white. The lamp was with an environmentally friendly PLA and provides 4W of power.

The 3D Moon USB Lamp comes in six different sizes – 8cm, 10cm, 13cm, 15cm, 18cm, and 20cm. Each size is a different price and they range from $35 up to $65. The lamp arrives in a stylish gift box and comes with a wooden stand (assembly required), USB charging cable, and a user manual. The manual is not very detailed and has a lot of broken English to wade through in order to understand it.

I was really impressed with the packaging of this product. It’s listed on Brando’s website as a “Good Gift” and they package it as such. The lamp itself is very lightweight. The touch control is the same port for the power, which I found to be quite an efficient design choice. The stand was easy enough to put together. The wooden piece slides together with the use of small dowel pieces. These do stick a bit, but if you rotate the pieces back and forth, the stand will eventually snap together.

We really love the ambient light the lamp puts out. In our living room, the brightness is somewhat irrelevant because of all the other lights in the room, but in total darkness, it does provide enough light to see through space. It’s a soft enough glow that you could potentially use it in a child’s room as a nightlight. The lamp seems to be pretty power-efficient. At the time of writing this article, the lamp has been on for approximately 3 hours without dimming. The instructions indicate that after charging for 2-3 hours, the working time should be more than 8 hours. I’ve not experienced this time yet but was really happy with how long it worked on a minimal charge.

As I mentioned before, Brando provides some unique gift ideas for those that are hard to shop for. This 3D Moon USB Lamp is a creative option for technology fans and non-technology fans alike.
