OS release days are always exciting to me. I love seeing new features released and having a fresh system to work with. That said, I also experience a large amount of anxiety when it comes to the update or upgrade part. There are quite a few steps to walk through before you hit that “install” button to make sure your update is successful. The best thing you can do is plan ahead and give yourself enough time to get through all the necessary tasks needed to complete your macOS and iOS updates. Believe me, it’s worth taking a few careful steps to make sure your Mac, iPhone, or iPad is ready for a smooth upgrade. Here are the best practices to follow.
1. Check Device Compatibility
Not every Apple device will support the new update. Visit Apple’s official compatibility list to confirm your Mac, iPhone, Watch or iPad qualifies. Installing on an unsupported device isn’t possible, so this quick check saves frustration and time.
2. Free Up Storage Space
