Mobee’s Magic Bar makes it easy to get rid of batteries for good. When I was younger, battery operated was the way to go. It meant you could be mobile and independent with your activities and technology was able to be in the palm of your hand. I was never a fan of having to take packages of batteries with me to summer camp for my Walkman, but it was the only way to have portable power. At some point during my life, objects began to morph into rechargeable. This meant that batteries could now be re-used and not just…

JABRA MOTION, THE ULTIMATE BLUETOOTH® HEADSET FOR BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS I received the Jabra Motion in the mail about a week ago and noticed immediately that the Jabra Motion was lighter weight than the other brands I have tried and it looked great. It did not take up much room across my face and it felt so much better than the rest. Beyond that, and what should be the most important part of this review, the Jabra Motion sounded great on both ends of the calls I made. Something you should know about me, I am a bit of a Bluetooth…

My Ultimate Bucket List allows users to create bucket lists with ease. The great guys at projectglacier.com have created an app I’ve been wanting for a long time. Ever since I saw Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, I’ve wanted to write down things to complete in my life. Doing this on a piece of paper, keeping track of it and keeping it from being torn up never really worked for me. When the iPhone came out, I tried creating a list again this time using notepad. This wasn’t a good option either. Now that the iTunes App Store…
Compress for Mac provides a quick, easy solution for image compression. At MacSources.com, we write reviews daily Monday through Friday. Each review has one or more images and each image needs to be compressed to optimize the loading times on our website. We used to do this by opening up Photoshop and tweaking the image. But, what if we could do this quickly without having to open up Photoshop? What if we could see the quality and the size of the image as we worked with it? That’s where Compress comes into play. By the maker of PwGenerator, this app was…
PwGenerator eliminates weak passwords. In this day and age, security is a must. After finding out that the NSA is spying on everyone, it becomes clear that it’s not just a few who get targeted. It’s everyone. The last time I researched this topic, 60 percent of the population was using weak passwords. Some examples of the most popular weak passwords – password1, qwerty, birthday, or a child’s name. Most people use the same password for everything they do online. This is a big no no. Cable companies are now going through the extra step of setting up routers with…
Muzzy is a tiny iTunes companion for your menu bar. iTunes has a nice mini-player built into the software. It shows the album artwork, give users control functions and even include a search function. But, because it still lives within the main software window, it can still hide behind other app windows. That’s why Muzzy is such a great app. Muzzy is a tiny utility companion for iTunes. It lives in your menu bar and shows the current track’s album artwork, track title and running time when clicked on. While you can’t control iTunes completely, you can select different tracks…
The Steve Jobs movie starring Ashton Kusher was scheduled to play in theators in April. The movie was pushed back due to the need for more marketing and some critisim after the first trailer. August 16th 2013 is now the premair date. Steve Wozniak even had some comments about the first movie trailer that was not flattering. After watching the second trailer it looks like it might be a decent movie, how much of it will be true I don’t know but it should be interesting. Leave your thoughts below in the comments. Will you go see it?

Today I want to bring your attention over to a Mac OSX app called QuickRes. QuickRes allows you to change, you guessed it, the resolution on your Apple device. The way I understood QuickRes, was that it would allow you to switch to an even higher resolution on your Retina Macbook Pro, and enable HiDPI Mode on non Retina display Macs. Giving you a resolution as close to retina without being retina. I first tried QuickRes on my 27″ iMac. It did make all the text much clearer for me, but it blew the display way out of normal use.…

Drobo 5N is a professional data storage solution at a personal price. I’ve been a loyal Data Robotics customer since the original USB Drobo. I’ve seen way to many hard drive failures from my time repairing computers to not have a back-up. In fact, I remember losing 500 GB of data on an external Seagate drive I was using as my main source of storage. I learned about the Drobo not too much longer after deciding that my external should be used as paperweight. I bought my first Drobo in 2009 and have been an extreme fan ever since. I’ve…
Your tablet made me sick. What does tablet computing and the flu have in common? I’ve learned over the past week and a half that if you play with the tablet display at your local electronics store, there is a good chance you are going to catch the flu. Besides getting horribly sick, I was able to view a family of three check out the iPad, Nexus 7, Galaxy Tab and the Windows Surface tablets. The first stop for the family of three was the Galaxy Tab. I heard the daughter say to her mother, “This is like our phone.”…

Apple’s newest TV Ad – Dream. I noticed that Do not disturb was still on yesterday morning, Lots of people might have found that yesterday morning Do Not Disturb was set wrong. I guess it got confused being the start of a new year. Even with yesterdays little mishap this is a great ad from Apple. Just turn on Do Not Disturb and your iPhone 5 knows not to ring, unless it’s a call you really want.
2012 has been a great year. We’ve has some ups, downs and surprises. Here are my top three favorite apps for 2012. Below you will also see Robyn’s top three apps of 2012. 1Password: This app is the first thing I install on all my machines. Thanks to 1Password, I can keep all my private text private. This is the review of the device I didn’t plan on buying – iPad Mini, but I am very glad I did. I watched the live Apple event on October 23rd via my Apple TV. I was not surprised when they announced it and was actually more surprised by the release of the iPad 4 only seven months after the iPad 3. That’s a different article all together so I’ll get back to the Mini. Already being an owner of the iPad 3 and seeing the new mini did not have the retina display, I did not see much use…

I’ve been jealous of the retina display MacBook Pro, but not for the reason most would think – the retina display. The high-end model has a 512 SSD. I have the last addition of the 17-inch MacBook Pro. I’ve decked it out with 16 gigs of RAM and now I’ve added the 512 OCZ SSD to complete my set-up. This drive is awesome. It was quick to install. Once I put a clean install of OSX and reloaded all my software, I was ready for some real would testing. In the box to my new SSD, I found a sticker…
