Apple Watch News App Store Launch:
Over 3,000 apps are now available for the Apple Watch, which is set for delivery tomorrow, April 24.
On the eve of one of the biggest technology products in history is set to launch, its app store opens its virtual doors to users around the globe. The Apple Watch App Store promises “all-new ways to do all kinds of things.” The app store resides within the Apple Watch app that actually lives on your iPhone. Even if you haven’t received your watch – or won’t for a while – you can still peruse the apps that await your fingertips.
The store is very much like the regular App Store, with one very noticeable exception – the app icons are circular instead of square. In my opinion, this is a very nice design touch on Apple’s part. It really ties in how the apps appear on the watch – as a circle. There are already an impressive number of apps available – over 3,000 – and we can only expect to see that number grow in the coming weeks.
Apple had a very specific idea in mind with the Apple Watch store:
“The more you wear Apple Watch, the more you’ll realize just how personal a device it is. Because with so many different apps available, you can choose the ones that are most relevant to you, and create a customized experience. There are already apps for airlines, department stores, social networks, and more that take advantage of the unique opportunities the wrist brings. And with new apps being built for Apple Watch every day, this is just the beginning.”
