The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina now starts at $1499 with the processor speed boosted to 2.6 GHz. The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now has a 2.4 GHz with the higher-end version at 2.7 GHz quad-core processor. It also has a RAM boost to 16 GB.
While the MacBook Pros with Retina displays had a price drop, the original MacBook Pro still starts at $1,199 for the 13-inch model, which is still significantly less than the Retina display MBP.
The reason for the price cut? Apparently the sales of iPads are too competitive with the MBPs. Apple is hoping to spark interest with the price cut and spec upgrade.
