Even though I’ve already revealed what machine I decided to go with, I want to point out that I spent a LOT of time researching different companies and the different options out there. I looked at CyberPower, MSI, and ASUS (just to name a few) before I found Andromeda Insights. COOLING & ACOUSTICS

Across all general compute workloads, the system performs well without signs of instability or performance degradation.

GAMING PERFORMANCE

Gaming performance is excellent, with results scaling appropriately across resolutions. In Gears of War, The Finals, and Fortnite at a 5K ultrawide resolution, performance averaged around 80 FPS, demonstrating high-resolution capability. When switching the display to a lower dual-mode resolution (2560 x 1080), performance increased to 144+ FPS, showing that the system can easily deliver high-refresh competitive performance when pixel load is reduced.

FurMark further validates GPU performance, scoring 9,911 points at 4K with an average of 164 FPS. While not a gaming benchmark, it confirms strong sustained GPU output under heavy synthetic load. Overall, gaming performance is high-end across both ultra-resolution and high-refresh scenarios.

CREATOR PERFORMANCE

Creator workloads show a clear advantage from GPU acceleration. Blender GPU rendering produced 3827 (Monster), 2866 (Junkshop), and 2281 (Classroom) samples per minute, significantly outperforming CPU rendering by a wide margin. This confirms that the RTX 5080 is the primary driver for 3D and rendering workloads in this system.

CPU-based Blender tests also performed well, but as expected for a gaming-oriented processor, the GPU dominates in creative workloads. Combined with the strong HandBrake encode time and stable sustained performance, the system is well-suited for video editing, 3D rendering, and AI-assisted creative design workflows.

STORAGE PERFORMANCE

Storage performance is consistent across both synthetic and sustained testing. CrystalDiskMark (8GiB test) showed sequential read speeds of 5202 MB/s and write speeds of 4802 MB/s, confirming solid PCIe Gen4 NVMe performance.

Random performance is also excellent, with Q1T1 results reaching 51.63 MB/s read and 245.51 MB/s write, indicating good real-world responsiveness for operating system tasks, application launches, and file operations. No signs of cache collapse or sustained write degradation were observed between 1GiB and 8GiB tests, suggesting stable long-duration performance.

Overall, storage performance is fast, responsive, and well-balanced for both gaming and creative workloads.

NETWORKING & CONNECTIVITY

Network performance is stable and impressive, with download speeds of 617.47 Mbps and upload speeds of 607.38 Mbps. Latency remained low and stable, measuring 12 ms idle, 18 ms under load, and peaking at 29 ms. These results indicate minimal buffer bloat and reliable performance under simultaneous network activity.

Connectivity performance reflects a well-configured system with no signs of driver instability or system-level network congestion. While networking is primarily dependent on the external connection, the system demonstrates clean and stable throughput behavior that aligns with a properly optimized Windows installation and network stack.

Is it worth it?

After running this system through a full set of synthetic and real-world tests, the AI 50 Ultra V3 has proven to be a consistently strong performer across the board. I did not see any meaningful weak points in CPU, GPU, storage, or networking performance, and the system remained stable under sustained workloads. Gaming performance was excellent at both ultrawide high-resolution settings and high-refresh competitive modes, and creator workloads like Blender and HandBrake were handled comfortably, with the GPU clearly doing most of the heavy lifting.

Who This System Is For

I think this system is best suited for users who want high-end gaming and creator performance without building a PC themselves. It makes the most sense for:

It is probably not the best fit for someone who wants a near-silent system, since the cooling profile clearly prioritizes temperatures and sustained performance over acoustic comfort under load.

Value Assessment

At $2,499, I think the AI 50 Ultra V3 offers strong value for the level of hardware and performance included. The combination of a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5080 delivers performance that is difficult to match in today’s market without paying a premium or spending significant time sourcing parts. When I factor in current GPU and memory pricing, building a comparable system myself would not necessarily come out cheaper once everything is accounted for.

I priced out the main components if I were to buy them individually and assemble the PC myself. The total cost would be around $3,400 – $3,850 depending on part availability and pricing fluctuations.

While a custom-built PC would allow for more precise control over things like acoustics or exact component selection, the convenience here is significant. The system arrives fully assembled, tuned, and tested, which removes a lot of the guesswork and variability that can come with DIY builds.
